Gladys Elizabeth Green, age 85, Harrodsburg, widow of Harden Green, died Sunday, August 29, 2010 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, KY. Born August 20, 1925 in Ellwood City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Elizabeth Kloos Melzer. She was a retired LPN with Haggin Memorial Hospital and a member of the Our Savior Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the LWML and the Harrodsburg Historical Society and the Mercer Homemakers Club. Survivors include: three daughters: Wendy (Mike) Camic of Harrodsburg, Heather (Henry) Donavan of Pocasset, MA, Cynthia (Stephen Harris) Green of Columbia, MO and two sons: Harden (Cindy) Green, and Robert (Linda) Green, both of Harrodsburg, one sister: Dorothy Mraz of Cumming, GA; and one brother: James Melzer of New Castle, PA; 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She was predeceased by siblings: Loretta Melzer, and Robert Melzer. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM, Wednesday, September 1 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Danville, by Pastor David Witten. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 31 from 5 - 8 PM at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg. Burial will be in the Locust Grove Cemetery in Ellwood, PA. Memorial contributions may be sent to Our Savior Lutheran Church, 285 Hill-N-Dale Dr., Danville, KY 40422 A service will be held at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ellwood, PA, 10 AM, Saturday (Sept.4, 2010). With visitation at the Turner Funeral Home from 6-8 PM on Friday.
