Vernal Kidd, age 73, of Harrodsburg, husband of Opal Watkins Kidd, died Friday, October 1, 2010 at his home following an illness.
Born March 26, 1937 in Beatyville, KY, he was the son of the late Harlis and Bessie Childers Kidd. He was a Self Employed farmer and a member of the Acton Baptist Mission. Survivors include: his wife: Opal Watkins Kidd, four daughters: Shirley (Bradley) Risen of Campbellsville, Christine (Larry Lee) Patterson of Harrodsburg, Sarah (David) Gilvin of Stamping Ground, Beth (Fred) Kelly of Harrodsburg, two sisters: Mona Marchbanks of Dixon, MO, Lou Emma Palmer of Dixon, MO; and five brothers: Ralph Kidd of Lexington, Harlis Kidd, Jr. of Waterford, MI, Dexter Kidd of Beatyville, Tom Kidd of Campbellsville, and Harry C. Kidd of Indianapolis, IN; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren. He is predeceased by four brothers: Elmer, James Henry, James Howard & Sammy Gene.
Graveside service will be conducted 03:00 PM, Saturday, October 2 at the Spring Hill Cemetery by Brad King. Pallbearers are: Benjamin C. Risen, Zackary Shewmaker, Hunter Lee Shewmaker, Ashton Blake Tyree, Harlis Kidd, Jr., William Bret Arnold, Jakob Payne, Dexter Kidd and Allen Kidd.
