Obituary of Dale Shellhammer

Dale Shellhammer, 86, Harrodsburg, husband of Linda Shellhammer, died Thursday, December 2, 2010 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg, KY.
Born May 13, 1924 in Vandergrift, PA, he was the son of the late Ira Harold and Irene Elizabeth Donahay Shellhammer. He was a retired mechanical engineer at Mathews Conveyor Company and a member of the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church. Dale was also a member of the American Legion, VFW, Mercer Masonic Lodge #777 F&AM, Olekia Shrine Temple, the Scottish Rite and the Harrodsburg Lions Club. Dale enjoyed camping with family and friends, Oleika Shrine parades in his tin lizzie and projecting a jovial persona to all he met. To say he will be missed would be an understatement.
Survivors include: his wife: Linda Jackson Shellhammer, a daughter: Renee D. (Jarrod) Eubank of Tampa, FL and two sons: Robert (Lisa Kirtley) Shellhammer of Versailles, and Brian (Tanya) Shellhammer of Lexington, one sister: Irmajean (Donald) Douglas of Pheonix, AZ; five grandchildren: Addisson Grace, Kaytlin Kirtley, Mercedes Christopher, Kenzie and Zachary.
Funeral services will be 11AM, Monday, December 6 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, with Reverend Harold Dorsey officiating Burial will be in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery, with military rites.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 5 after 4 PM and Monday prior to Service at Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Masonic service 7:30 PM Sunday at the Chapel.
Pallbearers: Mark Elliott, Sam Sampson, Josh McCoy, Uncle Bill, Uncle Jim, and Grant Miller. Honorary: Robert Shellhammer, Brian Shellhammer, Jarrod Eubank, Josh Devine and Tim Woodward.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Shiners Hospital.
