ALLEN CARROLL SMITH


Allen Carroll Smith, age 82, 724 Johnson Road, Harrodsburg, husband of Mary Bell Clark Smith, of Harrodsburg died Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at the home of his son in Harrodsburg.


Born September 8, 1921 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Sidney and Ona Kurtz Smith.


He was a retired employee in the molding department at Corning Glassworks, Inc. of Harrodsburg, a U.S. Army veteran of WW II, a member of the American Legion and was a member of the Burgin Christian Church


Survivors other than his wife, include: two sons, Donald Carroll and his wife Linda Smith, Lexington and Richard Lee and his wife Freida Smith, Harrodsburg, four grandchildren, Don Smith, Jr., Carolyn S. Young, Heather Peavler, and Megan Smith, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.


Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Saturday, December 20th at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Greg Humpert; burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery with full military rites.


Pallbearers will be Don Smith, Jr., Clay Peavler, James Herbert Lyons, Hugh Phillips, Liewellin Peavler, and Alfred Smith.


Visitation will be from 4 until 8 pm Friday and after 7:30 am Saturday at the chapel
