Obituary of Lelia D. Satterly

Lelia Mae Drury Satterly, 93, joined her precious Lord in Heaven on January 12, 2011. She was born in and grew up in Washington County, KY. She resided most of her married life in Perryville, KY. She enjoyed being a resident of the McDowell Place in Danville from 2003 until June, 2009. She was living at the Oaklawn in Louisville at the time of her death. Lelia’s family gratefully thanks the nurses and CNA’s for their loving kindness and care during her stay at Oaklawn and the staff and employees at McDowell Place while she was living there. She was a long-time member of Beech Grove Baptist Church in Washington County and loved teaching several different age groups in Sunday School. She was employed for many years at the Hub Frankel in Danville. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, W.G. Satterly; her parents, Walter Lee and Madge Darnell Drury; and a sister, Gladys Sanders. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Tony (Laura) Satterly and Roxie (James) Hall; grandchildren Kim (Chris) Grater and Michael Satterly; Allen (Heather) Hall; Rebekah (Darren) Lacy; and Brice Hall; and six great grandchildren Emily and Katie Grater, Elizabeth and Julia Lacy and Clara and Quint Hall; a sister, Corinna (Garland) Hoskins and a brother, Luther (Jean) Drury, two nieces, DuAnne Steele and Diane (Ken) Wilson; a nephew, Doug (Sandra) Drury; 4 great nieces, 3 great nephews and 3 great-great nephews and her daughter-in-law, Rita Satterly. A celebration of her life will be held at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel in Harrodsburg, KY, January 22 at 2:00 pm, with burial in the Springhill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 21, from 4 to 7 pm and Sat. from 12 noon until the service.
