Daniel E. Murphy, age 71, 122 Ballard St., Harrodsburg, husband of Nancy M. Austin Murphy, died Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the Hope Lodge, Lexington, KY.
Born January 29, 1940 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Virginia Ann French Murphy. He a retired Tec. Sgt in the U. S. Air Force after 23+ years of service. He was also a Harrodsburg Post Office employee for 20 years and was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. Other survivors include: one daughter: Deborah Ann Villa of San Antonio, TX and a son: Steve (Kathy) Murphy of Harrodsburg, one sister: Mae Dell Mills of Harrodsburg, and three brothers: Edward Murphy of Lexington, Tim (Donna) Murphy of Harrodsburg, and Clifton (Cindy) Murphy of Harrodsburg, grandchildren: Gregory & Dylan Villa, Alyssa & Zachary Murphy. Predeceased by two sons: Timothy Wayne & Joseph Daniel Murphy.
Graveside services will be conducted 10:30 AM, Tuesday, March 8 at the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers are: Ed Murphy, Tim Murphy, Cliff Murphy, Steve Murphy, John David Lane, Michael Burke.
Visitation will be Monday, March 7 from 5 - 8 PM at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
