Thelma Spaulding Smith, age 97, formerly of East Factory Street, Harrodsburg, died Sunday, September 18, 2011, at the Westminister Health Care Center, Clarksville, IN.Born March 23, 1914 in Lexington, KY, she was the daughter of the late William and Nora (Cornish) Yocum. She was a former Beaumont Inn employee and a member of the Ellers Memorial Baptist Church.Survivors include: two daughters, Judy (Ken) Goethe of Saline, MI, Joyce (Cecil) Knight of New Albany, IN; one son, Robert "Bobby" (Joan) Spaulding of Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren; one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Hansford, L.C., Roger, & Albert Yocum, and two sisters, Emily Yocum and Ressie Conder.Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 24, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Rick Bolton and Kenneth Whitehouse with burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.Pallbearers are: Ellers Memorial Church Members. Visitation will be Saturday, September 24, from 10 am - 1 pm at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.Memorial contributions may be sent to Ellers Memorial Baptist Church, 446 Cogar Avenue, Harrodsburg, KY 40330.
