Obituary of Lawrence Boyd Peavler

Lawrence Boyd Peavler, age 82, 579 Linden Ave, Harrodsburg, husband of Lila Mae Harley Peavler, died Monday, September 26, 2011, at the Select Specialty Hospital, Lexington, KY.
Born September 25, 1929 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Willis and Leona (Gritton) Peavler. He was a retired construction worker and member of Local Union #189, and was a member of the Pioneer Baptist Church.
Survivors other than his wife include: one daughter, Brenda (Bobby) Hinkle, Danville; one son, David Lawrence (Cindy) Peavler, Harrodsburg; five siblings, Marvin Cloyd Peavler, Boyle Co., Margaret Irene Hicks, Harrodsburg, J. B. Peavler, Indiana, Edward Peavler, Florida, and Helen Mae Isham, Mackville; three grandchildren, Scott, Bradley, and Brooke; five great grandchildren. He was preceded by seven siblings, Thelma and Sarah Ella Peavler, Francis Jewell Tobey, Donald Ray, Condit B., Leon, and Willis Errol Peavler.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 29 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Steve James and Brandon Carrier with burial in the Bethel Baptist, Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers are: Scott and Eric Peavler, Brad Hinkle, Hunter Ballard, Kevin Isham, Kent and Keith Rogers, and Eric and Paul Harley. Honorary pallbearers are: Steve Vinyard, Earl Howard, Robert Phillips, Butch Merchant, Jack Atwell, Garnett and David Cinnamon, James Grimes, John Gumm, Harry Harmon, Jerry Mitchum, Ralph Byrd, Coy Coffman, Bryant Merchant, Truman Curtsinger, Chris Cornish, and Brent Steele.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 28 from 5-8 pm at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Gideon Bible Fund.
