Ernest Porter Ryan, Sr., age 89, , Harrodsburg, widower of Lona Mae Ryan (LouAllen) Ryan, died Friday, November 11, 2011, at the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg.
Born July 11, 1922 in Lexington, KY, he was the son of the late Jack William and Betty Jane (Bishop) Ryan. He owned and operated the Fleetline Cab Company in Harrodsburg for years.
Survivors include: a son: Ernest W. Ryan and a brother: Jack Ryan of Harrodsburg, KY; Six Grandchildren: Jeff (Susana) Ryan, Julie Ryan, Christopher (Kim) Reynolds, Shanda Hall, Porter Gene (Taitha) Ryan Jr. and Crystal (Jason) Morris; Nine Great Grandchildren and Five Great Great Grandchildren. Ernest was preceded in death by a son: Porter Gene Ryan, and two brothers Homer & Richard Ryan.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Monday, November 14 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Ollie Mae Wicker. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers are: Jeff Ryan, Spencer Ryan, Jason Morris, Porter Gene Ryan, Julie Ryan and Crystal Morris.
Visitation will be from 11 AM till 1 PM, Monday, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
