Cecil L. Riley, age 87, of Lebanon, formerly of Harrodsburg, husband of Mildred Birdwhistell Riley, died Thursday, November 17, 2011, at the Village Of Lebanon, Lebanon, KY. Born January 14, 1924 in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Ernest and Lillie Riley. He was a retired Mago Construction Company engineer and had worked for Standard Oil of California for several years. He was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, was an Army veteran of WWII, was chairman of the Mercer County Planning and Zoning for several years, was a Kentucky Colonel, was an avid bowler, and a big U. K. fan. Other survivors include: a nephew, Monty Parman; two great nephews and one great niece; several cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Marshall Riley. Funeral services will be 2:30 PM, Sunday, November 20, 2011 at the Harrodsburg Baptist Church by Darren Gillespie and Eddie Russell. Burial will be in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers are Phil Crump, Mark Mathis, Clint Parman, Alex Parman, Haley Parman and Ken Riley. Honorary bearers are members of the Faith, Hope and Love Sunday School Class. Visitation will be Saturday, November 19 from 4-7pm at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, and after 2:00 PM Sunday at the Church. Spalding Ave., Lebanon, KY 40033
