Laverne Britton, age 90, Harrodsburg, widow of Ralph Britton, died Monday, April 2, Harrodsburg, KY.
Born February 8, 1922 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late James and Madie Lee Long. She was a homemaker and Cattle Farmer and former employee of HallMark Co. and a member of Carpenter's Christian Church.
Survivors include: two daughters: Linda(Dwayne) Quarles of Lubbock, TX and Jan(Larry) Peyton of Harrodsburg; one sister: Lavona L. Moody of Louisville and one brother: Maurice Long of Lexington; Grandchildren: Jill Peyton Terrell, Julie Peyton Shewmaker and Angela Quarles McDonald; and Great Grandchildren: Madison Terrell, Abbie McDonald, Logan Shewmaker, Mallory Shewmaker and Megan Shewmaker.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 5 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Greg Warren and Perry Dressler. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers are: Gary Griffieth, Gerald Long, Kevin Long, Randy Shewmaker, Hanley McMullin and Alan Britton.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 4 from 5 - 8 PM at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Carpenter's Christian Church.
