Thelma Nichols Long, age 83, Harrodsburg, died Sunday, May 6, 2012, at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg, KY.
Born September 9, 1928 in Harrodsburg, KY, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Blanche (Prather) Nichols. She was a retired nurse at the Kentucky State Hospital. Thelma had a passion for music and mission work. She played the piano and organ for many years at the Harrodsburg Cumberland Presbyterian church and was active with the Nicaraguan Prison Ministry.
Survivors include: two Granddaughters, Leslie Long of Harrodsburg and Megan Morris of Lexington; a Great Grandchild, Cheyenne Morris. Thelma was predeceased by her son: Merrill Nichols "Nicky" Long and a sister: Sarah Katheryn Nichols Catlett.
A Memorial service will be 2 PM, Saturday, May 12 at the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church.
