Obituary of Martha Lee McKinley

Martha Lee McKinley, age 96, Harrodsburg, died Saturday, June 16, 2012, at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center, Harrodsburg, KY. Born February 17, 1916 in Modoc, IN. she was the daughter of the late Rev. James H. and Langie Mason Richardson. She was married to Lowell Dean McKinley who died not long after their marriage. Lee served her country during World War II in the U. S. Army as a master sergeant in the medical corp. She eventually moved to Harrodsburg and was owner/operator of the Harrod Fashion Shop for many years. In her younger years, Lee was very active in community groups, particularly the Harrodsburg Humane Society. Survivors include: a Nephew, James O. Richardson of Poncha Springs, CO; and special friends, Ruth Thompson and Diane Hart. Lee considered Ruth as her daughter and was very close to Diane for many years. Close neighbors and friends include Ronnie Rice and the Carter, Hurst, and Sanders families. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 20 at the Spring Hill Cemetery.
