Raymond Thomas Watts, age 79, of Harrodsburg, husband of Doris Jean Carey Watts, died Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born September 20, 1933 in Harrodsburg, KY, he was the son of the late Raymond Thomas and Stella (Maddox) Watts Sr.. He served in the Air Force during the Korean war and was a retired Corning Glass employee & Shelter Insurance owner-agent . Mr. Watts was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church and had been a long time member of Bruner's Chapel, where he served as a deacon. He was also a former Lay Minister and Gideon. Other survivors include: two daughters, Debra Watts of Harrodsburg, and Teresa (Steve) Gash of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Mary Baker and Beverly Griffin, both of Harrodsburg; one brother, Kenneth Watts of FL; two grandchildren, Carey (Dustin) Wilson and Kelly Gash; two great grandchildren, Carter & Jude Wilson. He was preceded in death by six siblings, Ivy & Ronnie Watts, Juanita Byrd, Viola Baker, Ruby Chambers, and Thelma Stephens. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Monday, February 18, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg with Wayne Spivey, DAvid Crowe and Don Reed officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be Sunday, February 17, from 5-8 pm at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Pallbearers are: Steve Gash, Dustin Wilson, Charlie, Maurice, Cleo, and Harold Baker. Honorary bearers are: Carey Wilson, Kelly Gash, Carter and Jude Wilson. Memorials are suggested to Gideons International, P.O. Box 176, Harrodsburg, KY 40330 or Beyond Measure, Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
