Irene Howell Akers, 82 of Harrodsburg, KY, died Thursday at her home in Harrodsburg, KY.
Born in Floyd County, she was the daughter of the late Walker and Ossie (Conn) Howell.
She was a retired Cook for the Harrodsburg School System and was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her husband, John Akers, Harrodsburg; one daughter, Pam (Sammy) Saddler of Harrodsburg; two sons, Laney (Susan) Akers of Lawrenceburg, and David Akers
10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Danny and John Akers Jr., and a grandchild, Elissa.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3-8 pm at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 12:00 pm at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, by Bro. Lewis Walter. Burial will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens, Nicholasville.
