Obituary of Lyndall Elerd Houchins

LYNDALL ELERD HOUCHINS Lyndall Elerd Houchins, age 86, Harrodsburg Health Care Manor, widow of Stanly Houchins died Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at the health care manor after a long illness. Born July 6, 1917 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Lindsey and Rosalee Trower Elerd. She was the Chief Clerk at the E.W. Brown Generating Plant in Mercer County until she retired in 1957. She was the first employee hired at the plant and was the only female employee for most of her career there. She enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church. Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie Coleman Blankenship and Kathleen McLawhorn. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, February 14th in the Spring Hill Cemetery by Dr. Robert DeFoor. There will be no visitation.
