Virgil D. Peyton, 69, Harrodsburg, husband of Opal Mae Phillips Peyton, died Tuesday at the Parrish Medical Center, Titusville, FL. Born Nov. 30, 1943, in Lexington, KY, he was the son of the late Ambrose and Ruby Jane (Garrison) Peyton. He was retired from the Corning Inc. Melting Dept., was a US Navy Veteran, and was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. Survivors other than his wife include: one daughter, Sheila Gayle (Rick) Conrad of Harrodsburg; three sons, Douglas Scott (Jana) Peyton of Frankfort, Michael Wayne Butler of Harrodsburg, and Steve Craig (Karen) Butler of Harrodsburg; one sister: Janice Lee Wethington of Versailles; one brother, Louis Gene (Carol) Peyton of Spartanburg, SC; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, by Harold Best. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 - 8 PM at Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers are Kyle Butler, Tanner Butler, Stephen Conrad, Tyler Conrad, Curtis Sterling, and Richard Skelly.
