Obituary of William Morris Yocum

William "Morris" Yocum, 85, widower of Mary Ann Combs Yocum, Harrodsburg, KY, died Sunday at the Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Elijah Worley and Hallie Bell Monroe Yocum. Morris retired as Assistant Superintendant for Norfolk Southern Railroad after 41 years and was manager of the Central Kentucky Funeral Limousine Association Crematory. He was also a Deacon at Salvisa Baptist Church. He is survived by: three daughters: Linda Gale Alford, Terri Anne Poynter, Susan Denise Yocum and one son: William "Billy" (Cheryl) Yocum all of Harrodsburg, KY. Two sisters: Mildred Ann Yates of Lexington, and Margaret Lee Sexton of Harrodsburg. 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Morris was preceded in death by a Brother, Marvin Seay Yocum. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 pm at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY. Pallbearers will be: Jeff Goodlett, Chris Goodlett, Brandon Yocum, Aaron Todd, Kevin Todd, and Logan Poynter. Honorary Bearers are: B.K Yocum, Chase Kelly, Isaiah Kelly, Cole Yocum, Mitch Jones, Nathan Sebastian, Ashton Kelly, Tyler Goodlett, Dakota Goodlett Daniel Goodlett, Brant Goodlett, Eli Goodlett and Hunter Yocum. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 am at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Chris Brown and Keith Weldon. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. The family request memorial donations be sent to Black Mountain Church Crusades for Christ Haiti Bible Fund, London, KY.
