Gilbert "Don" Hayslett, 68, Harrodsburg, KY, husband of Donna Patterson Hayslett, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the UK Medical Center, Lexington, KY. Born Dec. 27, 1944, in Harrodsburg, KY, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Hallie B. Tatum Hayslett. He was owner and operator of Hayslett Mechanical Contractors for several years, was a 1962 Graduate of Harrodsburg High and attended Campbellsville College, and was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church. Don was also a member of the NRA, National Watch and Clock Assoc., a KY Colonel and former member of the Harrodsburg Jaycee's. Survivors other than his wife include: one daughter, Debbie Hayslett Webb; one son, Gil (Esther) Hayslett II; grandchildren, Henry Webb, John Hayslett and Lauren Hayslett. He was preceded in death by his half-sister, Abbie Hayslett Yeast. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Wayne Spivey. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8pm at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY. Pallbearers are: Bill Hayslett, Bobby Hayslett, Terry Smith, Allan Franklin, Bobby Black, Jim Coyle, Gene Lawson, and Doug Greenburg. The family request memorial donations be sent to Harrodsburg Baptist Church, 302 South Main Street, Harrodsburg, KY 40330 or to one's favorite charity.
