JOHN M. BURTON
John M. Burton, 90, Inman Avenue, widower of Velma Clifford Burton, died Sunday, March 07, 2004 at his residence.
Born October 11, 1913 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late John J. Burton and Jimmie E. Wichersham Burton Preston. He was a retired farmer and member of the Bohon Church of Christ.
Survivors include: two sons, Glave and his wife Kaye Burton, Harrodsburg and Donald and his wife Carolyn Burton, Hustonville; a half-brother Billy Preston, Indianapolis, IN; a daughter-in-law, Betty Burton, Harrodsburg; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons, James E. Burton and John Craig Burton.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 9th at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Frank Preston, Gary Story and Don Burton. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Church of Christ Cemetery in Mercer County.
Pallbearers are: Eddie Burton, David Peavler, Harvey Coontz, Jerry Burns, Paul Preston, Jr. and Jimmy Dean.
Visitation will be after 5:00 pm Monday and after 7:30 am Tuesday at the chapel.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Heritage Hospice, Post Office Box 1213, Danville, KY 40422, the Hustonville Christian Church Building Fund, 113 College Street, Hustonville, or to the Bohon Church of Christ.
