Obituary of Jerry Bruce Caton

Jerry Bruce Caton, 66, Harrodsburg, KY, husband of Frances Green Caton, died Monday at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville, KY. Born October 27, 1947, in Mercer County, KY, he was the son of the late Carroll and Katherine (Trayner) Caton. He was a retired IBM Supervisor and was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, where he served as a SS Teacher and Deacon. He was a Coach and Volunteer for Mercer Co. Little League Baseball for 26 years, and was a coach for Mercer Youth Basketball for a number of years. Jerry was also a former Gideon and had been active in the UK 101 Club for several years. Survivors other than his wife include: two sons, Chris (Cathy) Caton and Nick (Kelly) Caton, both of Harrodsburg; one brother, Don Billy (Delores) Caton, Harrodsburg; four grandchildren, Alex, Gracie, Aaron, & Seth Caton, Harrodsburg; several Nieces & Nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by a son, Robert Todd Caton. Pallbearers will be: Terry Young, Mike Matherly, Eddie Young, Bob Coulter, Larry Lance, Larry Camic, and Jere Vaught. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thurs. at the Harrodsburg Baptist Church by Wayne Spivey. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation 4:30 - 8:00 PM Wed., church, and after 12 noon Thurs., church. The family request memorial donations be sent to Jerry Caton Memorial Fan Comfort Zone, Anderson-Dean Baseball Complex Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.ransdellfuneralchapel.com Ransdell Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
