Nathan Sims, Jr., 82, Harrodsburg, KY, widower of Evelyn Sims, died Friday, January 24, 2014 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg, KY. Born May 17,1931, in Burgin, KY, he was the son of the late Nathan Sr. and Rettie Satterly Sims.
He served in the Air Force and worked in the control room for Kentucky Utilities. He was a Deacon at Burgin Christian Church and a member of the 777 F&AM Masonic Lodge.
Nathan is survived by: a daughter: Paula (Rice) Lear of Burgin, KY and a son: Larry(Marsha) Sims of Lancaster, KY, a brother: David(Dottie) Sims of Burgin; Five Grandchildren: Daniel Lane (Heather) Sims, Ashley (Jason) Crowley, Katherine Meredith Lear and Gabriel Nicole (Brandon) Short; Five Great Grandchildren. Nathan was preceded in death by his Sister, Virginia Russell.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5-8 pm at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, with Masonic Service at 7:30
Pallbearers will be: Bob Webb, Donnie Webb, Eddie Russell, Lynn Russell, Tony Warner and George Hensley.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 am at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Kaywood Morris and Josh Snyder. Burial, with military rites will follow in the Burgin Memorial Garden.
