Obituary of Carl W. Young

CARL W. YOUNG Carl W. Young, 87, Dixie Manor, husband of Brunell Sanders Young, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital Extended Care Facility. Born August 14, 1916 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Edgar and Bertha Best Young. He was retired as Mercer County Clerk after serving sixteen years, Vice President of State Bank and Trust Company for several years, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion, DAV, VFW, a member of the Kiwanis Club for several years and was a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church. Survivors besides his wife include: one son, Ronnie D. and his wife Jana Young, Harrodsburg; two grandsons, Chris and his wife Allison Young, Richmond and Patrick Young, Columbus, Ohio; two great grandchildren, Collier and Mason Young, both of Richmond. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 10:30 am Friday in the Spring Hill Cemetery by Bro. Don Chase. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Rags Gritton, Jim Fitzgerald, Bill Lester, Carlos Lester and Dr. John S. Baughman, III. There will be no visitation. The Ransdell Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions are suggested to the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital Building Fund.
