Lillie F. Mayes, 88, Harrodsburg, widow of Eugene Lee Mayes, died Sun., Nov. 30, 2014.
Born Jan. 4, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Thelma Riley Freeman. She was a former Corning and Sportley Hall employee and member of the Bruner's Chapel Baptist Church. Lillie was an avid UK Basketball fan and loved to play Rook.
Survivors: three children, McKinley (Gayle) Mayes, Punta Gorda, FL, Orban (Gayle) Mayes, Harrodsburg, and Shirley (Jim) Gunter, Punta Gorda, FL; one sister, Nellie Bottoms, Harrodsburg; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Lynn Mayes, a brother, Dwight Freeman, and two sisters, Irene Noel and Frances Camic.
Services 2 PM Wed., Dec. 3, 2014, Ransdell Funeral Chapel, by Tony Smith. Burial will follow in the Bruner's Chapel Cemetery. Visit. 5-8 PM Tues.
Pallbearers are Chris, Daniel, Gabriel, Josh, and Jarrod Mayes, Jad and Ben Farhat, Donald Logue, Jerry Bottoms, and Michael Bradford.
