Obituary of Jack Coleman Garriott

Jack Coleman Garriott, 86, Harrodsburg, husband of Velois Patterson Garriott, died Fri., Dec. 26, 2014, in Lexington. Born May 1, 1928 in Mercer Co. to the late J.C. and Mary Willie Coleman Garriott. He was a retired dairy farmer, USAF Korean War Veteran, and member of the Salvisa Baptist Church, where he had served as deacon, trustee, and choir member. Jack was also a member of St. John's Masonic Lodge #125 and was active in Farm Bureau, Dairyman Inc., and Southern States. Other survivors: one daughter, Jacqulyn (Bruce) Pritchett, Hendersonville, TN; two sisters, Ruth Bunton, Nicholasville, and Jane Stevens, Danville; one granddaughter, Ashley (Mark) Wells, Sturgis, KY; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Trudy and Adele Ransdell. Services 1 PM Tues., Salvisa Baptist Church, by Jerry Browning, John David Lane, and Jonathan Bennett. Burial with military rites will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visit. 11 AM Tues. until the hour of service at the church. Pallbearers are: Bruce Pritchett, Mark Wells, John Bunton, David Ransdell, Jim Stevens, Richard McCrosky, Anthony Hamlin, and Danny Brock. Honorary bearers: Ralph Morris and Robert Lee Shewmaker.
