Delila J. Sanders, 89, of Harrodsburg died February 16 at North Point Lexington Healthcare Center in Lexington, KY. Born September 13, 1925, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Verna Springate Jenkins. She was a member of Magnolia Street Christian Church and the Willing Workers Sunday School class. She was a graduate of Fairview High School. Delila was retired from AT&T, having worked in the Harrodsburg and Danville Operating Services for 37 years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She is survived by a daughter, Jolene Sanders Ashford, Nicholasville, grandchildren David (Kristin) Ashford, Nicholasville, and Beth (Danny) Rose, Lexington, great-grandchildren: Brittany, Christopher and Emily Ashford, Keaton Hub, Aiden, Sydney and Conner Rose. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Charles Ashford, a sister, Wanda Clark, and a brother, Paul Jenkins. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 20, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dennis Burrows officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 20, from 11:00 a.m. til 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers are Connie Darland, Cecil Riley, Steven Baxter, Wayne Holiday, Arthur B “Bud” Isham, Bill Papst, and Bruce Ashford. Honorary bearers are Marion Bash, Omer Casey, Bobby Holiday, and Wendell Johnson. Memorial gifts are suggested to the Magnolia Street Christian Church, 332 S. Magnolia St., Harrodsburg, KY or Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Dr., Lexington, KY 40504.
