JOSEPH U. BYERS


Joseph U. Byers, 102, of South Magnolia Street, Harrodsburg, died Sunday, April 04, 2004 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.


Born March 26, 1902 in Tennyson, Indiana, he was the son of the late Alvah and Eva Phillips Byers. He was a retired school teacher, former postmaster, member of the Lynnville, Indiana Masonic Lodge # 396 where he served as Past Master, and was a member of the Lynnville United Methodist Church.


Survivors include: two grandsons, Gary and Larry Lance, both of Harrodsburg; two granddaughters, Janice Young, Lawrenceburg and Lois Watts, Harrodsburg; two nephews, Stanley and Bob Byers, both of Illinois; nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.


Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 7th at the Pemberton-Bradley Funeral Home, Main Street, Lynnville, Indiana. Burial will be in the Lynnville Cemetery.


Visitation will be from 4 until 8 pm Tuesday at the Pemberton-Bradley Funeral Home in Lynnville, Indiana with Masonic Rites. Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Lynnville United Methodist Church, 210 East Third Street, Lynnville, Indiana 47619. The Ransdell Funeral Chapel is in charge of local arrangements.
