Obituary of William Allen

William Allen, 94, formerly of Harrodsburg, KY, husband of Marie Weaklind Allen, died Wednesday at his home in Sevierville, TN. He was born January 29, 1921 in Casey County, KY to the late Amos and Mary Jane (Cochran) Allen. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a retired landscaper and a member of Magnolia Street Christian Church. Besides his wife, William is survived by his son, Don (Alicia) Allen of Lexington, KY, four daughters: Janice (Terry) Hall of Sevierville, TN, Donna (Joe) McDeavitt of Clermont, FL, Patricia Thomas of Florida and Beverly (David) Erkins of South Dakota, 5 step-children, 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Rick Allen and Ron Warner and by 2 grandchildren: Kevin Pinkston and Bill McDeavitt, 4 sisters: Bessie Crabtree, Francis Carrier, Gracie Cobb and Flossie Royalty, and 2 brothers: Earnest Allen and Enoch Allen. Visitation will be 11-2 on Saturday, May 30 and leading up to the service which will begin at 2pm. Funeral service at Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg. Memorial donations are directed to the charity of one's choice.
