MYRTLE “PENNY” HAZEL SPAULDING DRURY Myrtle “Penny” Spaulding Drury, 72, Kirkwood Road, Salvisa, widow of Robert “Bob” Drury, died Friday, April 9, 2004 at her home after a long illness. Born November 17, 1931 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Ruth Brown Spaulding. She was a Charter Member of the Anderson County Christian Church, a Kentucky Colonel, a former employee of Family Affair Restaurant in Salvisa, a retired State Revenue Cabinet Employee in Frankfort after seventeen years of service and she was a an avid doll collector and doll clothing seamstress. Survivors include: two sons, Tony Drury and Carson and his wife Alexa Drury, all of Harrodsburg; one daughter Wanda Sue Jones, Florida; two brothers, Lonnie Spaulding, Lawrenceburg and Jessie Spaulding, Mercer County; one sister, Betty Stinnett, Lawrenceburg; one aunt, Dora Sears, Lawrenceburg; five grandchildren, Marty, Scott, and Robert Bechtel, Jason and Alisha Drury and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, “Tootle” Tom, Robert, Allen, and Johnnie Spaulding, one sister Nellie Sherrow, and one grandchild, Jennifer Drury. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Monday, April 12th at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Jason Clark and Jerry Perry. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Steve Roby, William Gash, Jerry Goodlett, Mike Ransdell, bobby Brock, and Stanley Long. Honorary bearers are: Susan Flora, Shirley Gash, Frances Brock, Rita Long, Mae Hamlin, Betty Harmon, Charlene Goodlett, Susie Cinnamon, Shirley Johnson, Beth Hazelwood, Gaye Brock and Judy Kays. Visitation will be after 6:00 pm Sunday and after 7:30 am Monday at the chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to Heritage Hospice, POB 1213, Danville, KY 40422.
