Betty Jo Barnes, 75, Harrodsburg, widow of G.W. Barnes, died Tuesday, June 16, 2015 in Harrodsburg. Born November 13, 1939, in Harrodsburg, KY, she was the daughter of the late George Bradley and Jessie Lee Norton Long.
She was a member of Berea Christian Church. She was a former employee at Cricketeer Manufacturing and Modine Co.
Betty Jo is survived by: One daughter: Kathy (Dan) Whittaker of Harrodsburg, one son: George Melvin (Melody) Barnes of Harrodsburg. Two sisters: Arnetta (Cornell) Hendren of Louisville, KY and Norene Baker of Harrodsburg, KY. One brother: David (Gladys) Long of London, KY. Grandchildren: Brian (Wendy) Stewart, Brent Stewart, Rebekah (Brandon) DeWolfe and 5 great grandchildren. Betty Jo was preceded in death by her Brothers: Jess, Melvin, Bobby and Boyd Long.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 18, 2015 from 5-8pm at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
Pallbearers: Gary Long, James Barnes, Roger Long, Keith Long, Brandon DeWolfe, and Levi Bensinger. Honorary Pallbearers: Brian Stewart, Brent Stewart, Rebekah DeWolfe, Hannah Stewart, Haley Stewart, Ashley Stewart, Ava DeWolfe and Austin Stewart.
Funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 pm at Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
The family request memorial donations be sent to place of one's choice.
