Obituary of Leslie H. Bishop

Leslie "Les" Bishop, 79, Salvisa, KY, died Monday, July 20, 2015, at the Frankfort Regional Medical Ctr., Frankfort.
Born June 6, 1936, in Mercer Co., he was the son of the late Howard Lee and Christine (Curtsinger) Bishop. Les was a retired Sergeant for the Lexington Police Dept., was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, and was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and member of the Marine Corps League. He was a 1955 graduate of Harrodsburg High School, where he played basketball for Aggie Sale. Les also played basketball for Campbellsville College and the 3rd Marine Division basketball team during his military service.
Survivors include: one daughter, Sally (Jeff) Baker, Lexington; two brothers, Don (Virginia) Bishop, Springdale, AK, and Robert (Linda) Bishop, Harrodsburg; two grandsons, Nicholas & James Baker, Lexington; the mother of his children, Mary Johnson Bishop, Salvisa. He was preceded in death by a son, Leslie H. "Chip" Bishop.
Services 11 AM Fri., July 24th, Spring Hill Cemetery Pavilion, Harrodsburg. Visit. 5-8 pm Thur., Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg.
