Marshall "Jug" Freeman, 88, Harrodsburg, died Thursday, July 30, 2015, at the Haggin Memorial Hospital Extended Care. Born August 18, 1926, in Mercer Co., he was the son of the late Wheeler and Dora (Robinson) Freeman. For many years, Marshall was co-owner of Freeman & Ison Men's Store, and was a retired auctioneer and sales agent for Freeman & Dedman Real Estate and Auction Co. He enjoyed participating in field trials with his bird dogs, showing road horses, and spending winters fishing and golfing in Florida. Marshall, along with his two brothers, was inducted into the American Road Horse and Pony Assoc. Hall of Fame during the World's Championship Horse Show in Louisville in 1986. The Freeman brothers were also inducted into the Mercer Co. Fair & Horse Show Hall of Fame in 2003. Survivors include: his wife of 70 years Anne Terhune Freeman; three nieces, Ann Freeman Dedman, Harrodsburg, and Marsha Freeman Leavell and Brenda Freeman Kuhn, both of Louisville; two great nephews and one great niece. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marsha Ann Freeman, and two brothers, Edwin and R. C. Freeman. Services 1 PM Monday, August 3, 2015, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, by Eddie Russell. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visit. 11 AM Monday, Ransdell's.
