Obituary of Philip Ray Foster

Philip "Phil" Foster, age 68, died peacefully at his home in Danville on Friday; December 4, 2015. Born May 25, 1947, in Scottsville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Virginia Mae (Scranton) and John Marlin Foster. Survivors include his wife, Kay Keightley Foster, son Kent (Kimberly) Anness, of Harrodsburg and his grandson Philip Anness, of Lexington, and two brothers: John Steven and Stanley Joe Foster of Scottsville, as well as a niece and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Marla Jean Foster Dyer, who was a medical missionary in Africa for the Free Methodist Church.
Philip was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and a member of the Order of Kentucky Colonels. He retired from Jim Beam Brands in Frankfort, where he worked as a supervisor for nineteen years. Prior to that he was a supervisor at National Starch and Chemical Company in Indianapolis and a construction specialist for the Kentucky Department of Parks. He was a plumber, by trade, and co-owner of Foster and Lyons Plumbing and Heating, in Harrodsburg, for twelve years. He enjoyed working, reading, golfing and walking with his dog, Charlie.
Graveside Services will be held 4:30 pm Tuesday; December 8 in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Harrodsburg Christian Church, 305 South Main Street, Harrodsburg, KY 40330.
