HAROLD LANCE REED Harold Lance Reed, age 89, 907 Mackville Road, husband of Gladys Britton Reed, died Monday, April 19, 2004 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born September 7, 1914 in Bohon, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Ed and Emma Hurst Reed. He was a retired employee of the Kentucky Department of Transportation, a farmer, an avid fisherman and gardener and a member of the Bohon Church of Christ where he served as deacon. Survivors besides his wife include: three daughters, Annetta and her husband Hanley McMullin, Harrodsburg, Sandra and her husband Hal Adams, Houston, Texas, and Lynne and her husband Johnnie O. Slone, Harrodsburg; one daughter-in-law, Sandra Dees, Mercer County; seven grandchildren, Brian and his wife Nancy McMullin, Patrick and his wife Amy McMullin, Chris and his wife Melodie Slone, Kevin and his wife Jennifer Adams, Clay Slone and his fiancé Sara Castle, Kim and her husband Mike Dean, and Tamara Adams; eleven great grandchildren, Keith Dean, Zachary McMullin, Jonathan Adams, Cristy and her husband David Curtis Ransdell, Nikki McMullin, Anna Beth McMullin, Jordan McMullin, Savannah McMullin, Amanda McMullin, Bailey Adams, and Kathryn Adams; two great great grandchildren, Carleigh Dawn Ransdell and Emily Nichole McMullin. He was preceded in death by a foster son, Robert Cecil Dees and four brothers Maurice, James, Byford and Mr. Reed’s twin brother Horace Reed. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, April 22nd at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Kenneth Preston and Julius Hovan. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Brian McMullin, Patrick McMullin, Chris Slone, Clay Slone, Mike Dean, Keith Dean, Kevin Adams, and David Curtis Ransdell. Honorary bearers are: Jo Richmond, Ralph Harlow, Paul Tyler, nephews Vance, Skeeter, and Eddie Reed, and Deacons and Elders of the Bohon Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 5 until 9 pm Wednesday and after 7:30 am Thursday at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Bohon Church of Christ Building Fund.
