James "Bennie" Yeast, 98, Harrodsburg, KY, widower of Zelma Vaughn Yeast, died Saturday: February 13 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center. Born December 15, 1917, in Harrodsburg, to the late Nelson and Ethel Mae (Sanders) Yeast. He served in the Army during World War II. Bennie was a retired truck driver, and a member of the St. Peter's AME Church and the Silver Cord Masonic Lodge. He is survived by: two daughters: Susie Y. Davis of Columbus, OH and Rosie Bell Cochran of Indianapolis, IN and one son: Benjamin Stokes of Harrodsburg, KY; two sisters: Edna Baker and Leona Yeast both of Harrodsburg, KY, twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Visitation will be 10 am - 11:30 am Friday: February 19 at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY. Funeral service will start at 11:30 am Friday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Rev. Ralph Smith and Rev. William Jenkins. Burial will follow in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville. Members of the Silver Cord Lodge will serve as Pallbearers.
