SADIE McMAHON NOTTER Sadie McMahon Notter, 91 yrs. of age, died May 2, 2004 in Harrodsburg, KY. She was a long time resident of Gallia County, OH. She and her late husband, Daniel Notter, farmed there for many years. She was a member of the Walnut Ridge United Brethren Church of Lecta, OH. She sang with the church choir and quartet. She was a member of the Waterloo Eastern Star Chapter. She was active in the Patriot Grange and the Women’s Farm Bureau serving as chairperson for the Gallia County Jr. Fair Youth Program for many years. In 1992, she received the S.W.C.D. Woman-of-the-Year Award. She was a volunteer for Holzer Hospital and a board member of Bossard Memorial Library for several years. She is survived by a son, Dr. Don Notter and wife, Donna, of Harrodsburg, KY and a daughter, Bette Hammer and husband, Joe, of Bel Air, MD. A son Dr. Dan Notter preceded her in death. She has ten grandchildren, Andrew Adkins, Marcia Lytton, Melissa Adkins, Miriam Adkins, Brent Notter, Lori Wimmer, Jennifer Diebert, Kim Welder, Kelly Krieger, and Kerry Chambers; also thirteen great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are: Brent Notter, Phil Pope, Don Pope, Dick Payne, Neil McMahon, and Joe Anderson. Calling hours will be held at Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Directors, Gallipolis, OH on Friday May 7th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm with Eastern Star Services and before the funeral service on Saturday at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Mound Hill Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
