Obituary of Bacon R. Moore, MD

Bacon Moore III, MD, 85, Harrodsburg, husband of Paula Kay Wolford Moore, died Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at his home.
Born in Harrodsburg, November 30, 1930, he was the son of the late Bacon R. Moore, Lt. Col. Retired, and Eula Benjamine Conley Moore. He was a retired Family Practice Physician, a US Army Captain, and founding member and deacon of the Harrodsburg Community Church. Dr. Moore was a graduate of the U of L Medical School, having received his bachelor degree from U of K. He was a founding member of the Christian Life Center Board, and was a member of the McDowell Home Health Board. Dr. Moore was also a former member of the Jaycees, the Rotary Club, the AMA, the American Academy of Family Practice, and had been a clinical mentor to medical students for the UK Medical School Area Health Education Center.
Other survivors include: two sons, Bacon R. "Roc" (Mona) Moore IV, and Paul Wolford (Donna) Moore, both of Harrodsburg; a sister, Nannie Bowman Moore Oldham, Washington DC; two grandchildren, Logan Wolford Moore and Kayla Lee (Jon) Llamas; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 2 PM Saturday, April 2, 2016, at the Harrodsburg Community Church by Terry Morrison and Dr. Rodney Lee Buckson. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 11 AM until the hour of service at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the Harrodsburg Community Church, the Gideon Bible Fund, or to a charity of one's choice.
