Obituary of Andora B. Trower

Andora B. Trower, 92, Harrodsburg, widow of Jack Trower, died Saturday, April 9, 2016, at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center in Harrodsburg. Born September 30,1923, in Harrodsburg, to the late Russell and Virginia (McFatridge) Brown. Andora was a 1941 graduate fo Harrodsburg High School and attended Eastern College in Richmond. She retired as a Purchasing Agent for Corning Glass after 43 years, while there she received the very selective award of "Associate". She was a long time member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years, was a long time deacon as well as serving on many other church committees. Andora was also a past member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and was currently serving as chaplain of the Jane McAfee Chapter of the Daughter's of the American Revolution. She also loved to travel, she has visited most all of the states in the U.S., several cruises and trips to Australia, Europe and Canada. She is survived by: a grandson, Chris (Crystal) Trower of Lexington, KY; three great grandchildren: Andrew, Seth and Madison Trower; and a Nephew, Wyatt Gardner. Andora was preceded in death by her husband; Jack Trower, her son: Monty Trower and two sisters, Jane Gardner and Martha McDonley. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Monday; April 11 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY. Pallbearers will be: Larry Camic, Andrew Trower, Seth Trower, Lee Gentry, Lonnie Harley, Wayne Bailes and Michael Powell. Honorary Bearers are: Zach Bailes, Calvin Shewmaker and the members of Her Sunday School Class HCC Elders. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday; April 12 at Harrodsburg Christian Church by Mego Haralu and Phil Williams. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
