Mary Rose Blacketer, 100, died Wednesday, August 10, 2016. Born March 9, 1916, in Mercer Co., she was the daughter of the late Ben C. and Sara (Brummett) Hurst, Sr.. She was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church and was a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include: one daughter, Mary Ellen Christopher, Montgomery, AL; four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; a special nephew, Tommy Hurst. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Boswell, and six siblings.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Wed., Aug. 17, 2016, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Dr. Robert Defoor. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be 5 - 8 PM Tuesday at Ransdell's.
