MAURICE F. LESTER

Maurice F. Lester, age 86, East Lexington Street, husband of Margaret Carr Lester, died Friday, May 14, 2004 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.

Born March 12, 1918 in Mercer County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late William and Chloe Riley Lester.

He owned and operated Lester’s Service Station for several years, was a school bus driver for the Mercer Co. School System, a carpenter, mechanic and worked in the cooper at Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill, and was a member of the Bruner’s Chapel Baptist Church where he was a Deacon for over 40 years and a Trustee for several years..

Survivors besides his wife include: two daughters, Jo Anne and her husband J.W. Logue, Harrodsburg and Doris and her husband Billy Ray Thompson, Lawrenceburg; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Hanley, Hollis, Harley and Hershel Lester and by two sisters, Elsie Farney and Olive Nichols.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, May 17th at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Bro. Greg Humpert and Bro. Jack Geurin. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers are: Kevin C. Logue, Joe O. Walters, Bobby M. Thompson, Thomas Aldridge, Jay Walters, Dane Thomas Aldridge, Jack Logue, Lorrie Walters and Jennifer Aldridge. Honorary bearers are: Bill Lester, Carlos Lester, Lynn Nichols, Nolen Nichols, and Earl Kent Nichols

Visitation will be from 5 until 9 pm Sunday and after 7:30 am Monday at the chapel
