RUEL T. LAY
Ruel T. Lay, age 86, Robards Court, husband of Virginia Devine Lay, died Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at his residence.
Born September 1, 1917 in Washington County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Floris and Eva Turner Lay. He was a retired employee of Coring Glass Works, Inc. of Harrodsburg where he worked in the machine shop and was a member of the Pioneer Baptist Church.
Survivors besides his wife include: one son, Gary and his wife Pat Lay, Harrodsburg; three daughters, Janice and her husband Don Billy Yates, Harrodsburg, Brenda Bradford, Harrodsburg, and Sherri Lay, Harrodsburg; one step-daughter, Janice Vaught, Danville; seven grandchildren, one step grandchild, five great grandchildren, and two nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, May 20th at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Revs. Mike West and Kenneth Whitehouse. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers are: Don Yates, Jr., Dale Yates, Jeff Noel, Justin Lay, Branden Lay, and Chris Lay. Honorary bearers are: Lawrence Peavler, Butch Merchant, Marvin Claunch, Marvin Robinson, Truman Curtsinger, and Johnny Bailey.
Visitation will be after 5:00 pm Wednesday and after 7:30 am Thursday at the chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to Gideons International, Post Office Box 176, Harrodsburg, KY 40330 or to the Pioneer Baptist Church, Sparrow Lane, Harrodsburg, KY. 40330
