Eva Ashford Lay, 89, Harrodsburg, died Saturday, November 26, 2016, at The Willows at Harrodsburg. Born April 23, 1927, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late James and Annie (Kurtz) Ashford, and the widow of Lawrence R. Lay, Jr. She was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star # 309. She had worked at Mercer Motors, Broaddus Inc., Lays Tobacco Warehouse, The Harrod Fashion Shop and Beaumont Inn Gift Shop.
Survivors include one daughter: Diane (Danny) Carter of Harrodsburg, and one son: James Edward "Eddie" Lay of Harrodsburg, and three grandchildren and 2 Great grandchildren. Eva is predeceased by a son: Lawrence R. Lay, III, and five siblings: Cora Ratliff, J. C., Forrest, Hyte, and Garnett Ashford.
Funeral services Tuesday,(11/29/16), at 1 pm, with visitation after 10 am Tuesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
Memorials are suggested to: Heritage Hospice or Harrodsburg Baptist Church .
