Betty J. Brinkley, 83, Harrodsburg, KY, wife of William R. "Bill" Brinkley, died Sunday at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville. Born November 12,1933, in Mercer County, to the late Gordon L. and Cammie (Gabhart) Preston. She retired as Director Of Nursing at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, she was a member of the Kentucky Nurses Association, Business and Professional Women Club and was awarded Woman of the Year. Betty was a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church and the Goodwill Sunday School Class and was the first female Board Chairperson.
Betty is survived by: her husband: Bill Brinkley, one daughter: Joyce (Joe) Chowning of Berea, one sister: Ruth Freeman of Harrodsburg and Two Grand Children, and a Niece: Pamela Rickerson.
Visitation will be 5-8 pm Wednesday; December 7 at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
Pallbearers will be: Gene Lawson, Don Engler, Lonnie Campbell, Larry Royalty, Dan Chilton and Smith Perkins. Honorary bearers are: Donna Mays and the Goodwill Sunday School Class at Harrodsburg Christian Church.
Funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Gaye Haralu and Phil Williams. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
