Virgil "A.J." Green, Jr., 90, Harrodsburg, KY, husband of Martha Sallee Green, died Monday at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville. Born January 18, 1926, in Richmond, KY, to the late Virgil A. and Grace (Durbin) Green. Mr. Green was the Owner and Operator of Green's Gas, Live Bait & Tackle and a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
He is survived by: his wife: Martha (Sallee) Green; one daughter: Linda (Jerry) Becker of Stamping Ground, KY; two sisters: Marie Broaddus and Nona Elam, both of Lancaster, KY; four grand children; seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Virgil was preceded in death by a son: Gordon Green.
Visitation will be 5-8 pm Thursday; December 29 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
Pallbearers will be: Richard Green, Joe Green, Jerry Becker, Stewart Miller, Jackie Hammons, Randy Broadus, Ross Hendricks, Dave Isaacs and Tony Bailey. Roy Sallee will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Funeral service will be held 1 pm Friday at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Wayne Spivey. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
