Doug Hazelwood, 65, Salvisa, husband of Lori Dean Hazelwood, died Saturday, February 4, 2017, at the UK Medical Center. Born June 27, 1951, in Mercer Co., he was the son of Wilma Frances (Wooldridge) Hazelwood, Salvisa, and the late Carl Warren Hazelwood. Doug was a lifelong farmer and was a member of the Kirkwood Baptist Church. Other survivors include: three children, Cara Hazelwood, Ashley (Staton) Nesbitt, and Logan (Livi) Hazelwood, all of Mercer Co.; one sister, Sherry (Joey) Breckel, Lawrenceburg; three brothers, Brent (Susan) Hazelwood, Harrodsburg, Alan and Perry Hazelwood, Salvisa; four grandchildren, Aubrey Morris, Anna Warren Nesbitt, Judson Hazelwood, and John Parker Nesbitt. Funeral services 11AM Thur., Feb. 9, 2017, at the Kirkwood Baptist Church by Logan Hazelwood. Burial will follow in the Kirkwood Baptist Church Cemetery, Salvisa. Visitation 5 - 8 PM Wednesday at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, and after 9AM Thur. at the church. Pallbearers are Brent, Alan, Perry, Charles, Josh, Calen, Layne, and Austin Hazelwood, and Staton Nesbitt. Honorary bearers are John Trisler, Stephen Goodlett, Donnie Corn, Doug Duggins, Jeff Young, Jamie Dehart, and Paul Wilson. Memorials are suggested to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 502 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942, or Kirkwood Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1955 Kirkwood Rd, Salvisa, KY 40372.
