Obituary of Albert Jackson Peavler
Albert Jackson "A.J." Peavler, 68, Harrodsburg, KY, father of Emma Peavler Douglas, died Sunday at his home in Harrodsburg, KY. Born November 13, 1948, in Lebanon, KY, to Emogene (Holderman) Peavler and the late William Lee Peavler. A. J. served in the Army during the Vietnam war. He retired from Bay West Paper Company, and was a member of the Harrodsburg Community Church and the VFW of Mackville.
He is survived by: one daughter: Emma (Bobby) Douglas of Lawrenceburg, his mother; Emogene (Holderman) Peavler, Harrodsburg, one sister: Frances Shepherd of Lexington, and five brothers: Herbert, Henry and Arlen Peavler of Harrodsburg, W.T. Peavler of Junction City and Condit Peavler of Waynesburg. A.J. was preceded in death by a brother: Randall Leon Peavler.
Visitation will be from 10 am-12 pm Thursday; May 25 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg..
Pallbearers will be: Arlen Peavler, Condit Peavler, Henry Peavler, Herbert Peavler, David Peavler and Josh Peavler. Honorary Bearers are: W.T. Peavler and Johnny Harmon.
Funeral service will be conducted by George Smith, 12 noon Thursday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery, with military honors. Memorials are suggested to the POW/MIA Foundation, 7407 Legrande St S Jacksonville, FL 32244-1620.
