He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas Robert “Tom Bob” & Doris Mountjoy and his brother Robert “Bobby” Mountjoy of Danville, Kentucky.
Mark was born on February 2, 1949 in Danville, Kentucky. He graduated from Danville High School in 1967 and continued his formal education at Georgia Southern University. He married Judy Hicks on May 23 in 1970. In marriage, Judy & Mark raised Brian & Summer and set about showing them the beauty in nature and the strength in family. Mark’s children remember him as a loyal, loving, strong, creative and spirited father who encouraged them to pursue their passions and to live with phenomenal will. Mark’s grandchildren remember him as fun and funny; Mark’s grandchildren loved playing with him and giving him hugs and kisses.
Mark was an accomplished entrepreneur and enjoyed all facets of business development: design, management and marketing. Over time, he conceptualized and superintended a number of business projects, including constructing beautiful, quality homes across Danville/Boyle County. He was an innovative, expressive and resolute individual who loved nature and family and who was passionate about photography.
