Obituary of Newell Foster Hooker
Newell Foster Hooker, 84, Danville, KY, husband of Anna Ray (Langford) Hooker, died Monday at the V.A Medical Center in Lexington. Born September 28, 1932, in Stanford, KY, he was the son of the late John Franklin and Deanie (Elliott) Hooker. He served in the Army during Korean war and was a member of the Gethsemane Baptist Church in Danville.
Newell was an employee for Happy Valley Farms, Central Supply and Dana Manufacturing Company.
Survivors include: his wife: Anna Ray (Langford) Hooker, one daughter: Miranda (Doug) Ruggles, and one son: John Hooker, both of Danville, KY, six grandchildren and one great grandchild, He was preceded in death by his brothers, Shelton and Donald Hooker, and four sisters: Martha Latham, Mayme Smithey, Nell Moore and Ethel Denny.
Visitation will be 11am-1pm Thursday; August 17 at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, KY.
Pallbearers will be: Sabe Ruggles, Lucus Ruggles, Wyatt Ruggles, John M. Hooker, Joe Wright and Danny Langford. Honorary bearers will be: Jim Metz, Amanda Hooker, Oliva Ruggles and Kye Xavier Hooker.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Thursday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by James McPherson. Burial will follow in the Bellevue Cemetery, Danville.
