I am just in shock. I haven't heard from Julie in several years - used to get a funny and very poetic Christmas card and this year was hoping to reconnect. I looked her up hoping to verify her address and saw this obituary from 2017. Now I understand why the Christmas cards stopped coming.
This will probably never go farther than this writing but if anyone can let me know what happened, I would appreciate it.
Julie was a family friend when we lived in Hawaii. She sang in the choir with my mother and father and was part of our family for the few short years that we were there. I was in high school then and have so many funny memories of Julie and spending Christmas day with her at Hanauma Bay one year. A couple of years later, I stayed with her in Atlanta, GA for a weekend when all my lifeguard friends made a trip there. I think that was the last time that I actually saw her.
Wow - Julie so much has happened and I was hoping to catch up with you - the card is addressed and ready to go. We will definitely catch up one day though. Thank you for being a part of my life!

Was so very sorry to learn of Julie's recent passing. Though it had been many years since I last saw her, she remained (and remains) a positive, up-beat influence. Sincere condolences to Dorothy, to the rest of her family, and to her many other friends.

So sorry to hear about Julie......I also went to Brenau College and in our freshman year production of The Sound of Music, Julie played the role of Capt. Von Trapp and I was Maria. We had reconnected on Facebook and laughed about those fun years.....such a shock to hear this.....:-( My sincere condolences to Dorothy and the rest of the family.

My sincerest condolences to Dorothy and to those who knew her well. She was a true friend to my aunt, Julie Keightley, and I have many fond memories of the two of them together always laughing. I even had the pleasure of traveling to Paris with them. I am so sad to hear this news but am comforted knowing she and my aunt are now together, laughing again.

Julie will be missed by many! A magnetic personality, and a natural leader! I thank her for her service to our country. One of my favorite upperclassmen Harrodsburg High School fellow band members!!! And always remember her vocal group - "Feenie, Deanie, and Dave." Rest in Peace, Julie. You had an impact for many here on earth.

Julie is in my earliest memories; I have a picture of the two of us as toddlers held in the arms of Julie's Aunt Martha Carr, our next door neighbor on Price Ave.; and another photo of us in a group o preschoolers at Bible School. I do not think of our elementary through high school years without thoughts of Julie~talented, smart, unique, and one-of-a-kind. That she carved a life that celebrated and fulfilled those qualities I am certain surprises no one who knew her then or thereafter.

Julia was younger than me but I followed her military career from afar through social media, as I follow many of my friends in Harrodsburg. She will be missed but not forgotten.

Dorothy, I am so sorry. I loved seeing Julie when she came into town. I am the daughter of Joy B. Stevens, Class of '65. I believe my mother graduated with some of the best people in the world, and Julie was one of the best. I pray for your safety while traveling and peace in the coming days and beyond. I know she will be missed by many.

Ann-Margret Perkins
PS, Mom is marking off her last two states. She's on an Alaskan cruise and will be heading back to Texas to visit my sister. She will hold you dearly in her prayers.
