Obituary of Cheri Gay Cotton
Cheri Gay Cotton, 71, wife of Larry Cotton, died Friday at her home in, Harrodsburg, KY. She was born July 30,1946, in Harrodsburg, to the late Roy and Venita (Shewmaker) Devine. She was a financial officer for the Harrodsburg Independent and Mercer County School Systems and a member of the Mercer County foster Care Review Board. Cheri was a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church where she was an elder, secretary for the church board, member of the Outreach Ministry Team, and was also involved in the food distribution from God's Pantry.
Cheri is survived by: her husband: James Lawrence "Larry" Cotton and two sons: Troy (Kelly) McGinnis and Eric (Kim) McGinnis, one brother: Tom Devine & the late Verna Farney Devine, all of Harrodsburg, two step sons; Craig (Sarah) Cotton of Louisville, and Shawn (Erica) Cotton of Houston, TX; seven grandchildren: Landon McGinnis, Laci McGinnis, Charlotte McGinnis, Laura Cotton, Claire Cotton, Maxine Cotton and Alexandria Cotton.
Visitation will be 5-8 pm Tuesday; October 3, and Wednesday from 9 am until time of service at the Harrodsburg Christian Church.
Pallbearers will be: Landon McGinnis, Tim Berger, Kenny Wade, Larry Royalty, Allen Whitenack, Mike Conover and Lee Gentry. Honorary Bearers will be: the Lunch Bunch Class Of 1964 and members of the Gospel Sunday School Class.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at Harrodsburg Christian Church by Gay Haralu. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
